Down to my waist!

Hello, Today I am going to try to convince you to not do strapless dresses. I know, I know! You look good in them, they suit you. But please just hear me out before you say anything. So I was in grade 8 (Or secondary 2) and I had this good friend, who shall remain nameless. She is Cuban, so you can imagine that she is quite a curvy girl. One day she arrived at school in a strapless dress and holding another (We went to a public school!). She wanted me to wear it for the day. After a bit of convincing I agreed. I went about my business as usual but I was continuously pulling up the dress and adjusting it. I survived French and Maths class, I think it was, and even lunch without any mishaps. Then in third period just after lunch we had art class, my favourite! It was a very social class, so we were aloud to walk around and talk with people as we worked. So, towards the end of class I decided to go and talk to my friend Carl. Carl was like my brother, in fact at the beginning of

Women Vs. Men

Image
Hello, Are men and women equal? Or are women under men because he man first? God created men and women equal! This is very important. He also created us with different roles. This is also very important. God created women for men, for us to submit to them. This does not mean the women are less than men or that we have no value. God calls men to respect and love women, especially their wives. There were many laws put in place in the old testament to ensure that women were taken care of by men. God created us all equal. We each have different a job and purpose in life that is unique to our gender. One cannot go without the other as our roles complement each other. This is the way God designed it to be. God created women to be wives and mothers, to cook and clean and without that can you imagine what this world would be like? Now I am not saying that men are not allowed to cook or clean. In fact a husband that helps out around the house is always respected in my book. God created m

Why I wear skirts and dresses

Image
Hello, Beginning on the 12th of June 2016 I have tried to only wear skirts and dresses. I don't wear the religiously. If I have to wear pants than I will. But, I wear skirts and dresses as much as I can. My decision was based on four main factors. Biblical; It say in Deuteronomy that women should not wear men's cloths. Now I know that today pants aren't only men's cloths. But skirts are definitely women's cloths. Historical ; Did you know that women only started wearing pants in the 1930;s and 1940's. That means we have only been wearing them for 86-76 years! Me ; It was very important for me to be comfortable and enjoy the new way I would dress. I started by wearing them for a few days before making my mind up. I was to take note of how it made me feel. The results... I felt feminine. I would spin around and dance, I loved it. For some reason, It made me feel more humble, quiet, respectful. Others (Men) ; Another very important e

My Modesty Mission

Image
Hello, This is my modesty mission. My modesty mission is my journey to become a modest woman of God and I'm letting you tag along for the journey. I hope you can learn something too! :) So, what is modesty? What does it mean to be modest? Here are a few definitions from a dictionary; Modest (Adjective) - Having or showing a moderate or humble estimate of one's merits, importance, etc.; free from vanity, egotism, boastfulness, or great pretensions. So, Then what does the bible say? Well it doesn't say modesty is.... But it does give us some hints. So here are some verses that might help us decide what modesty is. P.S. I use New Kings James.   1 Peter 3:3-4 3  Do not let your adornment be merely outward; arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel, 4  rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.   1 Ti

Hello

Hello, My name is Darcy-Rea. I am 16 years old. I am Canadian Australian and I live in Cambodia. I have been living here for over a year now and I love it here. Where is Cambodia? It is sandwiched between Thailand and Vietnam with Laos to the north. Why are we here? We came with a mission organisation called TransformAsia so parents could teach English to their boarders. But now we are with a different organisation called Bright Start (It's common to switch organisations after a while.)We have a learning centre at our house where my mother and I teach English to unprivileged children. But we do much more than that. My mother teaches the bible at a dental clinic. Both my parents teach English at a hospital to the staff. I work with another expat to make homemade paper to help raise money for the patients. My brother goes into the wards to play games with the patients and care givers. My father does evangelical work while giving out free sugar cane juice. And my mother, siste
